However, a Pro Pen 2 can't work on an Intuos 4/5, but it can work with a Pro Cintiq and Intuos Pro (2017 models). So you can use a Grip Pen on an Intuos 4, 22HD, and a Cintiq Pro (forwards/cross compatible). And most current pens are cross compatible within their respective generation. A general rule is that the Pens are forwards compatible, but not backwards. Matching all the Wacom Pens to their respective Tablets can get confusing, especially when trying to find a replacement.
